Fresno State vs. SDSU College Football Spread/Handicapping
Fresno State is one of a handful of teams that is still perfect this season, though barely as the Bulldogs have two single point victories. One of those was against Boise State and since then we have not heard much from the Bulldogs though some are pegging them as this year’s BCS Buster.

This week they are on the road against San Diego State, their chief rival in the Mountain West’s West division.

The Aztecs are perfect in the conference thus far so this game means a lot to both teams.
Fresno State
The Fresno State offense is one of the most prolific in America, bet you didn’t know that.
They are 5th in scoring and 4th in total yards and passing yards thanks to a terrific senior season by QB Derek Carr. Carr is completing better than 70% of his passes and has thrown for 23 touchdowns in just half a season.
If the Bulldogs can maintain their perfection a little longer than he should creep up those Heisman watch lists.
Carr’s top target is WR Davante Adams, a sophomore who caught more than 100 passes last year as a freshman.
This year he is on pace to destroy that mark and is a serious handful due to his size and speed.
Last year the Bulldogs won a high scoring affair 52-40 against SDSU and Carr had a huge day with more than 500 yards passing. Odds are we are going to see something similar late Saturday as the Bulldogs defense gives up lots of yards and points. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Almost like they are prodding Carr to keep scoring…and he does.
San Diego State
In last year’s loss the Aztecs were up 21-6 in the first quarter but let the game get away from them. They should be looking for some revenge this season but I don’t think they have the team to get it even though they are at home this year.
This year’s Aztecs team is pretty mediocre. They have the .500 record but that has consisted of two three game streaks first losing and then winning.
Lately they have had some strong offenses but that is not this club and the defense has been giving up an average of more than 32ppg, a number which Fresno State might double if they are not careful.
The best strategy for the Aztec is to try and slow down the game some with their running game but they are not built like that.
Unless they can turn Carr over repeatedly they won’t have much of a chance this season.
