This is a very good offensive team and their performance is made all the more notable due to the fact that RB Venric Mark, a dazzling runner and returner has missed the last two contests.

Visiting Evanston are the FCS Maine Black Bears who have also been perfect in the early going and are #25 in the recent FCS rankings. FCS teams winning is becoming more and more common so the Wildcats better be prepared.
They don’t seem like the kind of program to take any foe too lightly – their coach won’t let them. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Maine
Maine is one of the growing list of FCS teams that has beaten an FBS squad this season but their win was against lowly Massachusetts. Still a win is a win and this team has already won twice on the road this season.
They have a balanced offensive attack and really spread the ball around as already 4 runners have more than 100 yards on the ground. That includes quarterback Mark Wasilewski who is the team’s leading rusher, who will have to play really well for Maine to win.
That type of QB can be difficult to prepare for but the Wildcats have the advantage of practicing against their own versatile threat Kain Colter so they should be ready. The Black Bears were actually favourites in their win over UMass which says a lot about them and the Minutemen.
Northwestern
I love that NW football is so hot right now. They may not be the deepest or most physical team but they are really good at offense with dynamic weapons like Mark and Colter, who have to be accounted for on every play.
Kolter is an especially dangerous players because his passing has come along – he has completed 85% of his passes this season while ripping off 7+ yards per carry on the ground (just imagine if he was at Oregon). It looks like they are going to hold out Mark for this one but they should still put up more than enough points to win this one easily.
They have been averaging 43 points per game and this is the weakest team they have played yet. Hopefully they get him back for next week’s exciting home game against Ohio State.
I think they have a really good chance to win but they have a killer slate after that will have to take it one game at a time. Coach Fitzgerald is great at having his guys keep their eyes on the prize.
