Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Clemson Tigers Gambling Prediction & Week 12 Preview

Georgia Tech vs Clemson College Football Spread/Handicapping

You may not have noticed but the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are currently leading the ACC Coastal division. I am guessing that they would lose a tiebreaker with Virginia Tech because they lost to the Hokies earlier in the season which means they have no room for error in this game against a Clemson, the team everyone has forgotten.

There is definitely more at stake got GT in this one.

Since getting humiliated by Florida State all the Tigers have done is rough up the competition the last two weeks to the tune of scoring 99 points against Virginia and Maryland.

It has been kind of meaningless but at least they didn’t Clemson themselves into a more serious funk.

Georgia Tech

When evaluating Georgia tech before a conference game I think it is best to look more closely at what they have done against that opponent in the past.

Their rushing attack can dominate and once the train has left the station look out. Georgia Tech has won 3 of the last 5 against Clemson and run for better than 300 yards 4 times over those games.

That is as good a reason as any to consider the Yellow Jackets to at least cover on the road on Thursday night.

Also encouraging is that they have won their last three contests outrushing their opponent by at least 281 yards in each game.

Georgia Tech has the perfect style of offense to slow down the Clemson attack even though their own defense is nothing special. Likely this will be a back and forth affair.

Clemson

Since losing to FSU and falling off the national radar Clemson has beaten up on a couple of middle tier ACC programs.

Even though no one is talking about them they are still ranked 7th in the nation and have a very good chances at receiving an at large BCS bid.

QB Tajh Boyd had one of his best games ever last week completing better than 80% of his passes against Virginia. He and WR Sammy Watkins are definitely in sync lately with the speedy receiver going over 100 yards in 4 of the past 5 games.

The Clemson offense should be able to move the ball well against the Georgia Tech defense – they are only 54th in pass defense.

If their own defense holds against their triple option attack then they should win easily. If not (which I think will be the case) then it should be a very entertaining game with whoever has the ball last having a chance to win it.

Maybe we will even get some overtime as it is Thursday night after all.

Spread Pick: Georgia Tech +10.5
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: Clemson 42 – Georgia Tech 38
