They have yet to win a conference game this season and Oklahoma State will look to extend that streak while furthering their own pursuit of a conference championship.

With just one loss and games against the teams ahead of them in the standing their chances are pretty good. They just can’t be caught looking too far ahead and slip up like they did against West Virginia. This is Kansas though.

Kansas

The Jayhawks are bad, like get it over with and fire your coach already bad. That might seem harsh but when you hire a coach that is supposed to be an offensive guru and he brings in highly touted QB recruits (transfers) and your offense is still scoring less point than Akron you have a big problem.

Speaking of those recruits you have to wonder if the scouting systems is flawed if they really thought that Jakes Heaps was a player. He was all the rage when he chose BYU, like he was going to break records there but all I have ever seen is a scrawny kid with a pop gun arm.

I really don’t mean to be this harsh but it is hard to compliment this team and I have never liked Charlie Weis as coach.

They haven’t scored more than 19 points in any conference game this season and haven’t been closer than 10 points in terms of the final score. I don’t expect either of those trends to change this week.

Oklahoma State

As expressed above the Cowboys really do control their own destiny. All of their games down the stretch, save this one, are critical which makes you wonder if they might use Kansas, which should be an easy win, as some sort of experiment for things like trying to find a starting quarterback between J.W. Walsh and Clint Chelf.

Chelf got the start last week and the Cowboys put up more than 50 points but his numbers were unspectacular.

He was helped by an interception return for a major and you could argue that he was better on the ground than throwing.

Walsh hasn’t played much lately due to inconsistency but he has had his moments. What is actually amazing is that the Cowboys average better than 40 points despite their challenges at the most critical position on the field.

When they get really good play at the pivot they are really tough to handle because the defense is good.

Especially at turning you over and even converting those turnovers right into points.

Spread Pick: Oklahoma State -31
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: Oklahoma State 49 – Kansas 10
