The Villanova Wildcats are the favourites to win the Colonial Athletic Association title this year and this team will be ready and excited about the challeng Boston College.
This is 9th straight season they have taken on an FBS opponent and they even beat Temple back in 2009, a season that ended with them being crowned FCS national champs.
The talent level may favor Boston College but on the sidelines they have a seasoned vet – head coach Andy Talley is his 29th season directing the Wildcats. Although the talent difference might not be as much as we think considering the Wildcats have 6 players on the preseason CAA team and two preseason FCS All-Americans. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Boston College
The Boston College Eagles have switched coaches again in an attempt to get things going in a positive direction.
They used to be one of the better programs in the ACC but things have eroded of late but hopefully the energetic Addazio is the solution, or at least part of it. Leading the charge on the field is senior QB Chase Rettig, who put up solid numbers in last year’s disappointing season.
He will look to connect with WR Alex Amidon, one of two second team All-ACC selections for the Eagles (the other is LB Kevin Pierre-Louis)
The fact that this number is just 16.5 show that they are going to Rettig to have a solid game right out of the gate because no one expects a complete domination by BC.
It is more than just possible that Boston College loses this one, especially the way FCS teams have been making a nasty habit of taking down FBS teams every season now it seems.
