NCAA Week 13 Football – Pittsburgh Panthers at Cincinnati Bearcats

The Big East title may be on the line this Saturday night in Cincinnati, when the Bearcats (8-2 SU, 5-4 ATS) host Dave Wannstedt’s Pittsburgh Panthers (7-2 SU, 4-5 ATS). Pittsburgh had a bye this past week, giving them a chance to rest some injuries after their big 41-7 sports betting home win against Louisville. Last week, the Bearcats also beat the Cardinals, a 28-20 NCAA wagering win in Louisville that kept the Bearcats in the hunt for the Big East title.

Two weeks ago against the Cardinals, Louisville held star RB LeSean McCoy to his worst game all season, only allowing McCoy to rush for 39 yards on 17 carries. NCAA bettors would usually guess that with these numbers, the Panthers were doomed to a loss but the defense stepped up in a big way, forcing five turnovers and scoring two touchdowns in the rout.

QB Bill Stull was also solid for Panthers gamblers, completing 15-of-27 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown in the win. On the season, McCoy has been nothing short of spectacular, carrying the ball 210 times for 1043 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns despite losing carries to Larod Stephens-Howling each game. After starting the season with four straight losses against the college football betting line, the Panthers have since covered four of their last five ATS for college football bettors.

For having the top three quarterbacks on their depth chart shelved early on, the Bearcats have had a remarkable season under QB Tony Pike. Playing with a broken left arm himself, Pike was great last Friday in Louisville against the Cardinals completing 19-of-33 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns with one interception to record the win for Bearcats bettors. His favorite target, WR Dominick Goodman, had a big game himself in the NCAA betting win, catching nine passes for 134 receiving yards and a touchdown that put the Bearcats ahead for good.

In fact, Goodman and fellow WR Marshwan Gilyard are currently second and third in the Big East respectively in receiving, and have combined to catch 111 passes for 1560 yards and 14 touchdowns. Lately, the Bearcats have been hot for college football gamblers against the NCAA odds, winning their last three both SU and ATS.

NCAAF betting trends for the gambler to know for this match-up include: Pittsburgh is 6-1 ATS away from home over its last seven games, Cincinnati is 20-9-2 ATS over its last 31 games overall, the ‘under’ is 7-3 ATS over Pittsburgh’s last 10 Big East games, and the ‘under’ is 6-1 ATS in the Bearcats last seven home games. The last two stats certainly seem to bode well for ‘under’ backers in this game.

Current NCAA betting lines currently have the Bearcats installed as 5.5-point home favorites with a game ‘total’ of 49 points.
