The Bobcats are coming of a bye and are in the running for a MAC East Divisional title, with a 20-17 win over Ball State on Oct 31.

Senior quarterback Theo Scott has been solid for the most part; completing 55 percent of his throws and has 1,437 yards with 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season. Injuries have robbed the rest of the offense of its quality depth, and the Bobcats have scored just 20 of 29 times inside the red zone, which ranks in the bottom 10 percent of the country, and have scored just 10 touchdowns in those 29 chances. The Bobcats lead the nation in turnovers forced and fumbles recovered, and is also ninth in interceptions and turnover ratio. Defensively, they are soft against the run, but have been successful in defending against the pass.

Buffalo has lost two straight games, and is 1-4 in the conference. They are heading into Tuesday’s contest coming off a disappointing 30-29 loss against Bowling Green. The Bulls led, 29-16, heading into the fourth quarter, but fell apart on a blocked punt to start the fourth – the second of the game, and then the total disappeared offensively for the remainder of the game, putting up just eight points and 109 yards in the second half of play. Running back Jeffvon Gill came into the contest against Bowling Green in the first quarter, replacing two starters that went down with ankle injuries early on in the game. Gill racked up 98 yards by halftime and finished with 172 yards on 23 carries with a touchdown in the loss.

Bobcats vs. Bulls Odds:

The odds makers currently have Buffalo as –2 ½ -point favorites.

Red zone offense remains a problem for the Bobcats, and the Bulls will need to tighten up their special teams if they want to win this one.

Ohio vs. Buffalo Free Pick:

I like the Bulls in this one.
