Ohio State
The Ohio State Buckeyes bounced back with a blowout win over Purdue last weekend, but they know they really blew it in Madison two weeks ago. The Buckeyes will look to show they can give their best effort on the road in this one.
Terrelle Pryor has definitely matured as a quarterback this season. Pryor has already thrown for 1,775 yards, and he has 18 touchdowns on the season. He also sports a completion percentage of 66% and has thrown just six interceptions. Pryor is always a threat to take off and run as well, and he averages 5.2 yards per carry. The Buckeyes ground game has improved over the last few games, with Boom Herron stepping up as the team’s main rusher. Dane Sanzenbacher and Devier Posey form to combine a nice receiving duo for the Buckeyes. Ohio State is sixth in the nation in points per game at 40.8 so far this season.
The Ohio State defense has been great most of the year, but they struggled mightily against the power running game of Wisconsin. Last weekend they were back to dominating once again. Time will tell whether Ohio State can stop a team with a great running game, but this is a pretty good defense on the whole. They actually rank second in the nation in total defense. This unit allows only 234 yards per game. 
Minnesota
Tim Brewster was the first coach fired this year, and the Golden Gophers now have Jeff Horton at the helm. This team won its first game of the year and has since lost seven straight games. The schedule the rest of the way is tough, so this team just might finish with only one win in 2010.
The Minnesota offense is led by senior quarterback Adam Weber. Weber is having a nice season in 2010. He has thrown 17 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. The Golden Gophers average a respectable 246 yards per game through the air. Duane Bennett and DeLeon Eskridge are the two featured running backs, but this team has struggled to move the ball consistently on the ground this year. Da’Jon McKnight and MarQueis Gray are both solid play makers at the wide receiver spot.
The Minnesota defense has been horrible this year. It is difficult to win football games when the defense is allowing 32 points per game. The team isn’t very good at stopping the pass, and they are terrible against the run. The Buckeyes are a much improved running team, so I fully expect to see them look to run the football early and often in this game. If Minnesota has any chance at stopping Ohio State, they will need the front four to have their best game of the season.
The Pick:
The Minnesota Golden Gophers haven’t played a team as good as Ohio State this year. Ohio State should be able to do whatever they want on offense, and they will probably dominate defensively as well. Though I don’t like laying a ton of points, I think Ohio State -25.5 is the best play in this one.
