Georgia

The Georgia Bulldogs fought back against Arkansas, but a late touchdown by the Razorbacks dropped them to 1-2 on the year. The hot seat is getting even warmer for Mark Richt, and many are saying he better win this game!

The Georgia offense clearly misses A.J. Green and his play making ability on the outside. Aaron Murray has done a solid job as a freshman quarterback for this team, but the offense just isn’t that dynamic right now. The running game finally got going a little bit more last week against Arkansas, so maybe they can build off that solid performance. Washaun Ealey and Caleb King from a nice tailback tandem, but King is a little dinged up right now. The Georgia offensive line needs to do a little better job creating creases for the running back to run through.

The Georgia defense was lit up pretty badly by Ryan Mallett last weekend, but I suspect that will happen to quite a few defenses this season. The run defense did its job last week, holding Arkansas to just 2.3 yards per carry. The defense hasn’t played that badly, but they are going to have to force some turnovers, and thus far they haven’t done that much at all.

In a game like this one, the defense needs to hold up against a Mississippi State offense that isn’t anything special. College Football

Mississippi State

The Bulldogs of Mississippi State have started the season 1-2, but they have shown signs that they could be a dangerous opponent this year. They narrowly missed upending the Auburn Tigers a couple weeks ago. Here is another chance for them to beat a big SEC program and get a statement win.

The Mississippi State offense hasn’t been very impressive so far this year. Interceptions have been a huge problem for both Chris Relf and Tyler Russell at the quarterback position. The two quarterbacks have combined to throw seven picks through the first three games. Mississippi State has very little in the way of a running game, which makes defenses key in on the pass, but these quarterbacks must take better care of the football than they have so far this year. Chad Bumphis is a great play maker on the outside, and he must touch the football as often as possible for this team to generate more offense.

While the Mississippi State offense has disappointed, the defense has played very well this year. The defensive line is about as strong as they come, with Pernell McPhee leading the way. Mississippi State may have been beaten badly at LSU, but the defense only gave up 264 yards of total yards. Not many people have been able to contain Auburn’s running game in the last year or so, but this unit did a solid job against them a couple of weeks ago. This is an underrated defense that will cause problems for the opposition all year.

The Pick:

This matchup between the Bulldogs from Mississippi State and the Bulldogs from Georgia should be a very tight game. I fully expect this one to go all the way down to the wire. My “SEC Super Total” is actually on this game. I’ve found some great angles that have led me to make a big premium play on the total of this game. Get this package today and enjoy this great game!
