The Louisville Cardinals take on the Syracuse Orange in a Big East matchup this upcoming Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com.

Louisville was a 9 ½ point road underdog to Pittsburgh last week and could only manage three points in a 20-3 loss that basically ended any shot the Cardinals had at the Big East title. The loss dropped them to 4-4 both straight-up and against the spread on the year. Louisville is currently 1-2 SU in conference play.

For a team that only won two games all last season, 2010 has to already be considered a success with four wins on the year. The Cardinals have a solid defense that is ranked 22nd in the nation in points allowed; giving up an average of 18.8 points per game. They also have a very good rushing offense that is ranked 23rd in the country; averaging 197.6 yards per game. RB Bilal Powell has led the way with 1067 yards on 153 carries. He also leads the team with 10 touchdowns; one receiving and nine on the ground. NFL Betting

Syracuse has been even a bigger surprise this season as the Orange are still very much in the conference title picture after handling Cincinnati 31-7 this past Saturday as a six-point road underdog. The victory moved them to 6-2 both SU and ATS for the season. Syracuse is 3-1 SU in Big East play, buts its one loss is to Pittsburgh, who remains undefeated in the conference at 3-0.

The Orange also boast a very stingy defense that is ranked 14th in the country in points allowed; giving up an average of just 17.5 per game. Their problem has been scoring as they are averaging 25.8 points a game which ranks them 72nd in the country. RB Delone Carter leads the team in rushing with 746 yards on 140 carries. He also leads the team with six TD’s. QB Ryan Nassib has completed 55.6 percent of his passes for 1408 yards. He does have 14 TD passes against just five interceptions.

Louisville is 4-6 SU in its last 10 games and 5-5 ATS. The Cardinals are 1-3 SU in their last four road games but 3-1 ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of their last 10 games overall.

Syracuse is 7-3 both SU and ATS in its last 10 games. The Orange are 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four games at home and the total has stayed ‘under’ in six of their last 10 games overall.

Head-to-head, Louisville has won four out of the last six games SU, but Syracuse is 5-0 ATS in the last five. Last season, the Orange covered as a seven-point road underdog in a 10-9 loss and the year before they won 28-21 as an 11-point home favorite.

Louisville has improved but Syracuse is a much better team than the one that had only managed to win seven games the past two seasons combined.

Betting Trends:

Louisville is 8-17 SU in its last 25 games
Louisville is 1-11 SU in its last 12 games on the road
Syracuse is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Louisville’s last 6 games when playing Syracuse
Louisville is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games when playing Syracuse
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Syracuse’s last 6 games when playing Louisville
Syracuse is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games at home
Syracuse is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games when playing Louisville

Pick: Take the Orange to easily cover the 5 ½ points at home in this one.
