On the season NC State is 1-2-1 ATS with an Over/Under record of 1-2 and Miami is 2-2 ATS with an Over/Under record of 3-0.

Miami has a good passing offense ranked 37th in the nation with QB Stephen Morris passing for 1,069 yards. While he has a solid WR corps he only has 4 passing TD and 3 INT and he has to stay away from the turnover facing a NC State pass defense that ranks 40th in the nation. Morris had a HUGE game against Georgia Tech passing for 436 yards.

While the Canes have a higher ranked passing offense their rushing offense features Duke Johnson (320 yards 4 TD) and Mike James (247 yards 3 TD), who are each averaging over 5 yards per carry. In the win over Georgia Tech Miami rushed for 173 yards. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

After getting picked off 4 times in the season opening loss to Tennessee Wolfpack QB Mike Glennon has not been intercepted since and he has nearly passed for 1,000 yards this season. The Canes only rank 65th in the nation defending the pass and their main goal has to be contain NC State WR Quintin Payton, as he has 338 receiving yards and the next leading WR only has 138 yards.

NC State does not have a great rushing offense, as their top 2 rushers have not rushed for over 150 yards this season. Miami only ranks 109th in the nation in run defense and they gave up 287 yards on the ground to Georgia Tech last week.

These teams have not faced each other since the 2008 season when NC State beat Miami 38-28.

In some betting trends for this ACC game NC State is 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 conference games, and they have an Under record of 5-0 in their last 5 road games.

Miami is 22-45-1 ATS in their last 68 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games, and they have an Over record of 7-3 in their last 10 conference games.

Jason’s Pick: Miami will take the confidence gained from their solid win over Georgia Tech last week and they will win this home game, cover the spread, and move to 3-0 in ACC play.
