NCAA College Football Week 3: Big spreads abound
The first week of the NCAA College Football season always has some lopsided matchups – along with appropriately large point spreads.
By Week 3, usually the games are a little more evenly matched, but there are some matchups this week that look like they’re right out of Week 1.

Case in point: state rivals Ohio Bobcats and Ohio State Buckeyes clash at the Horseshoe on Saturday (12 pm ET, Big Ten Network), with the No. 2 ranked Buckeyes opening as a 32.5-point favorite in NCAAF Lines at betED.com
But is the nearly five-touchdown spread really warranted? Ohio State is, not surprisingly, 2-0 straight up in the past two meetings. But the Buckeyes are a shocking 0-2 against the point spread.
Granted, the teams haven’t met since Sept. 6, 2008, when the Buckeyes beat the Bobcats 26-14. But the Buckeyes were still a Top 10 team heading into the 2008 season (No. 9) and were an even bigger favorite in that meeting, at 33.5 points.
Another big spread is evident in the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide-Duke Blue Devils matchup Saturday at Wallace Wade Stadium (3:30 pm ET, ABC).
NCAA College Football Odds have the Crimson Tide as a 24-point favorite.
The teams have met once in recent years, when Alabama beat Duke 30-14 on Oct. 7, 2006. The Crimson Tide had been 27.5-point favorites in that game and the score went over the total of 40.
But at least those two big spreads have been given to the No. 1 and 2 teams in the country.
The Florida International Golden Panthers must’ve felt pretty low to learn they are 26.5 point underdogs against the Texas A&M Aggies, who, while a solid team, are unranked.

The Bobcats and the Buckeyes’ game is very exciting! Though I am clearly not from Ohio, I’ve already seen how these two teams play. My football bet will still go to the Buckeyes tho. I still believe that can beat the Bobcats!
