If Marshall is to win the game, they’ll have to fittingly do it with the legs of running back Darius Marshall. He’s one of the more effective all-purpose backs in the nation, and he’ll have to shoulder the workload against a Bobcat defense that can go overlooked. The past few weeks, Marshall lost two, squeaked by SMU 34-31 and then ended the season by getting manhandled by lowly UTEP.

The Herd will have to find some fire if they are going to stampede their way to a bowl victory.

For Ohio’s part, head coach Frank Solich has this program pointed in the right direction.

Quarterback Theo Scott, while unspectacular, has made efficiency his M.O. this season and it’s worked well; a 131.25 QB rating and 22 total TDs means the Bobcats put some points on the board to give the D some breathing room. Lee Renfro and Noah Keller leads an Ohio defense that plays with passion.

The Bobcats had some close calls, but they didn’t have any stinkers on their schedule and they proved they could win some tough games in 2009.

It’s precisely that phenomenon why they should narrowly beat their Conference USA opponent in the Motor City.
