Over/Under: 57.5

New Mexico State pieced together a couple of wins over the past few weeks to get back to .500 at 3-3 straight-up (4-2 against the spread). It is 1-1 SU in the WAC with a 34-24 loss to San Jose State as a 10.5-point road underdog on Sept. 24 and a 31-24 victory over Idaho last Saturday as a one-point home underdog. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of its six games this year.

The Aggies have done a good job at moving the ball through the air with an average of 271.3 passing yards per game, but have still struggled to convert this production into points with an average of just 26.5 points a game. They have picked-up the pace in this department with a total of 73 points in their last two games.

Hawaii comes into this game at 3-3 SU overall (3-3 ATS) and 1-1 SU in the conference. Last Friday night, it dropped a tight 28-27 decision to San Jose State as a six-point road favorite. This followed a 44-26 non-conference win over Louisiana Tech as a 4.5-point road underdog on Oct.1. The total has been evenly split at 3-3 in its first six games. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Warriors have always been know for a high-powered passing attack and this season is no exception with an offense that is ranked ninth in the nation with an average of 336.7 passing yards a game. This has translated to points as Hawaii is averaging 35.5 points a game.

New Mexico State is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games on the road and the total has stayed ‘under’ in 10 of its last 13 road games.

Hawaii has used its unique home field advantage to go 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games at Aloha Stadium. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of its last eight conference games.

Head-to-head in this series, the Warriors are a perfect 6-0 SU in the last six meetings and 4-1-1 ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of the six games. A three-touchdown spread seems a bit high, but Hawaii has owned this series over the past few  years and once again lights things up at home on Sunday morning.

The Pick: Hawaii 45 vs. New Mexico State 21
