Georgia Tech’s 21-16 victory over Maryland as a 15.5-point home favorite this past Saturday ran its record to a perfect 6-0 straight-up (4-1-1 against the spread) in a game that stayed well ‘under’ the 64-point line. Its previous five games this season all went ‘over’ the total.

The Yellow Jackets come into this game with the nation’s No.1 ranked rushing offense that is averaging an incredible 378.2 yards a game. Led by Orwin Smith and David Sims, who have combined for 772 yards on 80 attempts, seven different players have over 100 yards rushing for Georgia Tech this season.

Virginia is coming off a bye week which followed a tight 21-20 overtime victory over Idaho as a 16.5-point home favorite on Oct. 1. It has a 3-2 SU record overall, but is just 1-4 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the five games.

The Cavaliers feature a balanced attack on offense with a passing game that is averaging 261.6 yards and a running game that is racking up an average of 177.2 yards on the ground. They too have a solid combo of backs in Perry Jones and Kevin Parks. They have combined for 647 yards on 130 carries, but Parks remains questionable for this game with an ankle injury. Georgia Tech is 4-1-1 ATS in its last six games overall and 8-2-1 ATS in its last 11 games as a road favorite. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of its last seven road games and in five of its last six games overall.

Virginia is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games in the conference and 1-4 ATS in its last five games as an underdog at home. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of its last seven games overall and in four of its last five games at home.

The favorite is 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in this series and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of the last seven games. The Yellow Jackets rolled to a 34-9 victory as 5.5-point road favorites in their last trip to Scott Stadium in 2009, but are just 1-5 ATS in their last six trips here.

It is doubtful that the Cavaliers will be able to keep pace with a Georgia Tech offense that is averaging 46.5 points a game, so give the 7.5 points and stick with the Yellow Jackets all the way in this one.

The Pick: Georgia Tech 34 vs. Virginia 23
