Point spread: Bearcats -17
Over/Under: 49

Louisville has had a bit of a roller-coaster ride in the non-conference portion of its schedule with an overall record of 2-3 straight-up (2-3 against the spread). It posted a 24-17 victory over in-state rival Kentucky on Sept. 17 as a 4.5-point road underdog, but it dropped its last two games including a 14-7 setback to North Carolina this past Saturday as a 14-point road underdog. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of its five games.

If the Cardinals are going to have any chance to pull-off the upset this week, they will need a huge effort out of an offense that is ranked 55th in the nation in passing and 91st in rushing. Quarterback Will Stein remains day-to-day for this game with a shoulder injury. If he cannot go then look for Teddy Bridgewater to get the start after taking his place last week against the Tar Heels.

Cincinnati went 4-1 both SU and ATS in its non-conference schedule. Its only setback of the year was a 45-23 loss to Tennessee as a four-point road underdog in Week 2. It is coming off a 27-0 shutout of Miami (Ohio) last Saturday as a 16-point road favorite. The total has gone ‘over’ in three of its five games. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Bearcats look to once again contend for a conference title behind a running game that is averaging 220.8 yards a game. Isaiah Pead has done most of the damage with 473 yards on 72 carries, but quarterback Zach Collaros has added 182 yards on the ground to go along with his 1,035 yards throwing the ball.

Louisville is 5-0 ATS in its last five road games and 6-1 ATS in its last seven games as a road underdog. Cincinnati is 4-1 ATS in its last five games at home and 5-0 ATS in its last five games as a favorite. Head-to-head, the Bearcats have won the last three meetings both SU and ATS and the total has gone ‘over’ in two of the three games.

The Cardinals could not cover as 16-point road underdogs in their last trip to Paul Brown Stadium in 2009 and the same remains true this time around as Cincinnati wins and covers the 17-point spread.

The Pick: Cincinnati 35 vs. Louisville 17
