Tulsa remains in a heated battle with Houston atop the West as both schools are 4-0 straight-up in the division. It is 5-3 SU overall and 4-4 against the spread after an impressive 38-7 rout of SMU this past Saturday as a 1.5-point home favorite. The total stayed well ‘under’ the 58-point line and has now stayed ‘under’ in six of eight games this year.

The Golden Hurricane bring a balanced attack into this game with an offense that is averaging 252 yards a game passing the ball and 182.9 yards running it. Tulsa is averaging 31.6 points a game, but its defense is giving-up almost as much with an average of 27.6 points a game.

Central Florida has dropped two of its last three games to fall to 4-4 SU (3-5 ATS) overall and 2-2 SU in the conference. Last week the Knights evened their record on the year with a 41-0 shutout of Memphis as 29.5-point home favorites. The total stayed ‘under’ the 48-point line and has now stayed ‘under’ in six of their eight games this season. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

This offense has also been well balanced with an even mix between pass and run, but its real strength has been a shutdown defense that is ranked fifth in the nation in points allowed; giving-up an average of just 14.3 points a game. SMU and UAB tagged this unit for a combined 64 points, but the Knights only gave up a total of 36 points in their other six games.

Tulsa is 8-1 ATS in its last nine road games and the total has stayed ‘under’ in five of its last six games as an underdog on the road.

Central Florida is 4-1 ATS in its last five games as a home favorite and the total has stayed ‘under’ in seven of its last eight games as a favorite.

The series is tied 2-2 both SU and ATS in the last four meetings and the total has gone 1-2-1. The ‘under’ could be the best play in this game, but take Tulsa to remain perfect on the year in the conference with the straight-up win on the road.

The Pick: Tulsa 24 vs. Central Florida 20
