Texas A&M’s defense was exposed in their last game against Auburn, as a second team from Alabama put up over 40 points against the Aggie defense. The offense remained red hot though, scoring over 40 points for the 10th consecutive game.

The Aggie offense certainly wasn’t to blame for their 45-41 loss to the Tigers. Quarterback Johnny Manziel threw for 454 yards and four touchdowns, adding another score on the ground, compiling his fourth 500-yard collegiate game. He suffered a right shoulder injury in the game, but is expected to be full-go com Saturday.

Manziel and wide receiver Mike Evans were on the same page all day, connecting for 287 yards and four scores.

The Texas A&M defense had trouble containing Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall all game, allowing him to rack up four touchdowns. Marshall threw for 236 and a pair of scores, adding a pair of scores and over 100 yards on the ground. Auburn’s ground game gave the Aggies fits all day, compiling 379 yards in the game.

Vanderbilt will enter this game on a high, coming off an upset of Georgia. The Commodores overcame a 13-point deficit in that one, winning 31-27 for their first win over a Top 25 team since 2008. The win came at a cost though as quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels left the game in the second quarter with a left leg injury and his status is up in the air for this one. Carta-Sameuls’s replacement, Paul Robinette filled in admirably, scoring on a two-yard run as part of the team’s comeback bid. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Vanderbilt defense had a strong game against a banged up Georgia offense. The unit limited Georgia to just 221 yards of offense, and held Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray to just 114 yards passing, the third-lowest output of his collegiate career. The team’s comeback was jumpstarted with a Georgia turnover, when the Commodores recovered a fumbled punt late in the third quarter.

The over has been money when the Aggies have hit the field this season, with the team playing over the total in six of seven outings. Quarterback Johnny Manziel has been banged up, but he’s also just about ready to turn on the afterburners as he looks for a second consecutive Heisman Trophy. With pundits all but handing the award to either Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston already, expect Manziel to put forth a motivated effort.

The over is 5-0 in the Aggies’ last five conference games.
