Ohio’s looked downright depressing in their last two games, getting outscored 79-3 in a pair of road contests, most recently a 49-0 defeat at the hands of Bowling Green.

The Falcons simply rolled over the Bobcats last Tuesday night. The Ohio offense never got going. Quarterback Tyler Tettleton completed 15 of 27 passes for 93 yards with an interception, while top running back Beau Blankenship could turn his nine carries into just 26 yards. As a team, the Bobcats averaged just 1.9 yards per carry.

In the end, they generated just 172 yards of offense, and converted on just two of 16 third down attempts.

The team’s offense was completely out to lunch, allowing Bowling Green to do whatever they wanted, including take a 35-0 lead into the break. Bowling Green quarterback Matt Johnson completed 12 of 17 passes for 229 yards and two scores with an interception, adding 36 rushing yards.

Running back Travis Green ran for 149 yards and 2 scores on 22 totes. In total, the Bobcats surrendered 460 yards of offense, 207 of which came on the ground.

Kent State’s last game went very differently as they defeated winless Miami of Ohio in their final home contest of the year. Quarterback Colin Reardon completed 13 of 22 passes for 147 yards, adding an additional 30 yards and a score on the ground.

Running back Trayion Durham wound up as the team’s top rusher, turning 17 carries into 109 yards and a score, while fellow running back Dri Archer carried the ball 12 times for 83 yards and a score.

In total, the team generated 447 yards of offense, 300 of which came on the ground.

Not much happened when the Redhawks had the football. The team generated just 176 yards of offense on the night, churning out only 112 yards on the ground despite 40 attempts. Drew Kummer and Austin Gearing combined to complete just five of 14 pass attempts for 64 yards and an interception.

This game features a pair of teams that simply can’t get anything going on offense right now, while both sides bring underrated defenses to the table.

While both have surely adjusted to the early start to their weeks, expect the offenses to have trouble again.

This game is the final game of the season for the Golden Flashes, so don’t be surprised if they’re looking to get out of town as they look ahead to the offseason following a disappointing year.

The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these teams.
