NCAAF Week 11 Wagering – Kansas Jayhawks vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

BetUS Sportsbook presents another great weekend of college football betting action, and as a part of a full card on Saturday; the Kansas Jayhawks (6-3, 5-3 ATS) invade Lincoln to do battle with the Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-4, 4-5 ATS).

The Huskers have to still be smarting from the 76-39 thumping they absorbed at the hands of the Jayhawks last season, but Kansas’ dominance in this series dates back to 2004. It has covered four straight games against “Big Red” by an average of almost 20 points per game. However, the home team has won each of the L/4 games. The winner of this game will keep their hopes alive for the Big XII North crown, while the loser will have a long uphill climb for the remainder of the season.

Save a clunker against Texas Tech two weeks ago, Jayhawks bettors have had a solid last four weeks cashing three of four ATS tickets. Last week, its rivals from Kansas State were the victims, as Kansas racked up a 52-21 victory as 7.5-point home favorites with ease.

RB Jake Sharp has had himself a whale of a month. On Saturday, he rushed for 181 yards and four scores. In his last four games, the junior running back has churned out 482 total yards and eight touchdowns. He’ll look to add to the miseries of a Nebraska defense that surrenders an average of 146.3 yards per game on the ground.

Though the Jayhawks excel on offense, their defense has struggled mightily in ‘08, ranking 83rd in yards allowed per game. That said; the powerful offenses of both Oklahoma and Texas Tech, played in back-to-back weeks – have severely fudged KU’s defensive statistics.

Last week was an absolute disaster for sports betting fans that backed the Huskers. The once proud “Black Shirt” defense was stomped upon for 508 total yards of offense in Nebraska’s 62-28 defeat at the hands of HC Bob Stoops’ Oklahoma Sooners.

QB Joe Ganz threw a pair of interceptions, and the only offensive highlight of the night came in the form of RB Roy Helu who rushed 16 times for 157 yards and a score. The Sooners busted out to a 35-0 lead after one quarter, and never looked back leaving Nebraska bettors absolutely no chance of securing a pointspread victory.

In spite of its recent struggles, Nebraska currently sits as slender one-point favorites in this Big XII North showdown, and oddsmakers expect a higher scoring affair since the ‘total’ has been set at 69.5.

The NCAAF betting trends are enamored with the ‘over’ in this spot. November has been a historically high scoring month for both squads. Nine of the L/11 November games for the Jayhawks have gone ‘over’ the ‘total’, while ‘over’ bettors in Nebraska L/27 November games are 20-7 ATS. Each of the L/3 meetings between these teams has resulted in an ‘over’ contest, and none of the three games came close to the ‘total’. Each exceeded the ‘total’ by at least three scores, and the average ‘total’ was eclipsed by a whopping 34.2 points per game.

Will the Huskers move one step closer towards a Big XII title, or will the Jayhawks put them out of their misery?
