Despite a fairly significant spread, the Ducks know that this game won’t come easy. After having their season spoiled by the late season loss to the Ducks, everyone on Oregon State would love nothing more than to ruin the Ducks’ bid to hit the BCS bowl series. For sports betting junkies, this is definitely a line you have to sweat. Oregon State is 6-1 SU/ATS and vengeance will clearly be on their minds.
Calming your worries, however are all the strong college betting trends leaning towards Oregon’s favor. They’re 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games, and undefeated (5-0 SU/ATS) at home. On top of that, they’re 4-2 ATS and 6-1 SU when hosting in their last seven home games against Oregon State. 
For those of you assuming that the unheralded Beavers don’t have the nuts to sack up against the Ducks, don’t forget that they barely lost to USC 36-42 and have notable victories over Cal, by a score of 31-14, and Stanford 38-28..

The ground game for Oregon is the backbone of its attack. They have 23 touchdowns combined from LaMichael James and quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, and will also have the service of LaGarrette Blount in the mix as well. Masoli, also has 1,865 yards with 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions this season. The Beavers give up just 95.0 rushing yards when on the road, but their defense has allowed 22.2 points per game overall this season. Considering the high volatility factor in this game, I’d say the OVER is a safe bet.
Oregon State’s offense isn’t without its strengths as well. They pile up 32.4 points per game, but a lot of that is inflated since they played in a defensively inept Pac-10 this season. Their rushing game compiles 158.6 yards per game, but the Ducks hold the sixth best home rushing offense with 270.5 rush yards per game.
I like the Beavers’ arrogance and vindication in this game, but Oregon has been too strong at home. I’m nervous about a big spread in a game where the Beavers will refuse to let up, but I’m still going with the betting trends in this one. The Ducks are a top-tier team that will answer the bell and earn a Rose Bowl appearance by vanquishing their Civil War rivals.
