Huskies vs Wildcats Pick

NCAA Football Week 12 betting action sees the Washington Huskies taking on the Arizona Wildcats on Sunday November 15th at  Arizona Stadium. Cappers Picks provides free college football handicapping tips all season long.

It’s surely been sweet redemption for hounded Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez, who was chased out of Ann Arbor by a bunch of staunch traditionalists that now struggle to win a game at Michigan.

Rich-Rod will look to keep the good vibes going in the Arizona desert on Saturday afternoon.

Both of these teams are having respectable seasons (6-4 for UW, 7-2 overall for ‘Zona) but a 2-4 Pac-12 mark has effectively derailed Washington.

The Wildcats are sitting relatively pretty at #14 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and Rodriguez recruiting his butt off in the off-season.

Arizona has been led by pivot Anu Solomon and the redshirt freshman has been excellent, racking up 2,816 yards and 25 scores, to just five INTs. His athleticism shows in other ways, also – as exhibited by his 115 rush yards versus Colorado last week.

The Huskies have lost three of their last four contests, so they’re clearly trending in the wrong direction.

The Purple and Gold will try and get back on track with all-everything athlete Shaq Thompson, who plays both ways (RB and in the defensive back seven) and has been averaging over seven yards per clip.

Thompson must be good this weekend because Arizona’s secondary is strong. Led by safety Jared Tevis, they have a nose for the ball and will force turnovers.

Offensively for the Wildcats, Solomon thrives with WR Cayleb Jones, a transfer from Texas. Jones has 53 receptions for 734 yards and eight TDs in ’14. Additionally, a strong running duo courtesy of freshman RB Nick Wilson and senior Terris Jones-Grigsby.

Rodriguez truly has Arizona trending in the right direction; if the Wildcats can win this weekend and finish the duration of the year with two more wins, they’ll have their best season since 1998.

The controversial head coach has done a great job mining strong players from Texas and California – classic pipeline areas for football talent.

Washington has plenty of talent also, but when you consider Oregon, USC, UCLA, Stanford, even the upstart Arizona teams (Arizona State is #6 nationally!) the Pac-12 Conference is a jungle. There is no place for the mediocre, as evidenced by the Huskies 2-4 conference mark.

Look for Arizona to get the win at home, where its elated home fanbase should echo across the Arizona desert. Also, look for this to be a high-scoring affair.
