Idaho vs Nevada NCAA Football Odds

The Idaho Vandals head to Mackay Stadium this weekend searching for just their second road win of the season against conference rival Nevada who have done well at home, going 4-2 against conference opponents while holding them to just under 20 points per game.

That’s not good news for Idaho is averaging just a meager 18 points on away from home. However, the Vandals were off last weekend, and have hd some time to lick their wounds after falling to the Utah State Aggies 49-42 in overtime.

It’s no mystery why Idaho are ranked 112 on offense, all one has to do is look at the stats. The Vandals rank near the bottom off all of college football in nearly every major offensive and defensive category, and have just one win this season against an FBS school, when Idaho defeated the San Jose Spartans 32-29.

The offense is scoring an average of 21.8 points per game ranking them 99th in the nation, and average just 111.9 yards rushing and 189.2 yards passing so far this season.

But the Vandals misery doesn’t end there. They defense is allowing 31.2 points per game, 91st in the nation.

Meanwhile, the Wolf Pack, despite falling to 65 on the year after suffering a loss at the hands of the Utah State Aggies last weekend, once again has a very explosive offense using their pistol attack, ranked 5 on offense, averaging 517.0 yards per game with 254.2 yards rushing and 262.8 yards passing so far this season. There is no doubt Nevada can score; the problem is they have a hard time stopping anybody and are ranked 67th in the nation in points allowed giving up an average of 27.3 points per game.

The last time these two teams faced off against each other the Wolf Pack completely blew out the Vandals, but that was last season, and Nevada had second round pick Colin Kaepernick under center.

Matt’s Prediction: Nevada 35, Idaho 27–

This is a hard one to call, as both teams have their issues. I wouldn’t usually back a team that was so terrible on the road, but 19. 5 points looks to be too many for a Nevada to cover.

I expect the Wolf Pack to win this one, just not by more than 10 points.
