Florida State

The Seminoles (7-0) arrive in Louisville with an unblemished record after beating Notre Dame 31-27 at home two weeks ago.

However, they are set to face a very good Louisville defense, and may or may not have running back Karlos Williams for this one.

That means they will need to rely even more heavily on sophomore quarterback Jameis Winston who has thrown for 1,878 yards with 13 touchdowns and so far this season. His favorite target has been Rashad Greene with 52 catches for 791 yards and four
touchdowns.

Williams balances out the Seminoles’ offense by leading a strong rushing attack, and has rolled up nearly 400 yards and seven touchdowns for in doing. However, an ongoing investigation into a domestic assault incident will likely keep him out of Thursday’s game.

Defensively, Florida State has assisted in knocking off likes of Oklahoma State, Clemson and now Notre Dame, but has not been as dominate as they were a year ago.

They are however ranked 29th in points against, allowing an average of 21.6 points per game.

Louisville

The Cardinals (6-2) have played well this season, in large part to their stingy defense, which has allowed just 13, 21, 10, and 18 points at home this season.

The defense ranks an impressive 4th in points against, as they held NC State to just 18, while scoring 30 two weeks ago.

Led by sophomore quarterback Will Gardner, who has passed for 1,151 yards with 11 touchdowns ,the Cardinals are averaging 30.9 per game, which is good enough for 58th in the country.

Not bad for a player who sat out two games for Louisville with an injury earlier in the season.

The Louisville passing has gotten its fair share of help though, most of which has come by way of the rushing duo of Brandon Radcliff and Dominique Brown, who have combined for over 760 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.

This will be the Cardinals fifth home game of the year.

Week 10 NCAA Football Spread Prediction

These two teams have not played one another since 2002, so there is not a lot of history between them.

And while the Seminoles have Winston, they will be without their star ground pounder.

[dfads params=’groups=63739&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Add to that the fact that Louisville is undefeated at home this season and it has a good chance at knocking off the defending champs in this one.

4* Score Prediction: Florida State 27, Louisville 20

Still, Florida State is arguably the best team in the country, and I expect them to prove it with a close low scoring single touchdown win late in this one.
