The Kansas State Wildcats host the UTEP Miners in Week 5 college football action in Manhattan on Saturday. The Miners will be looking to pull off a big road upset, while the Wildcats are in need of a bounce back after dropping their last game on the big stage a week ago.

The Wildcats had the nation on attention when they host the fifth-ranked Auburn Tigers in a prime time matchup on Thursday night last week. They weren’t able to pick up the victory, but they did give a very good Auburn team a run for their money in a 20-14 decision, proving that Manhattan is still a very tough place to play.

The team could have had a better outcome if not for their three turnovers, and that the running game was never able to get going as they churned out only 40 yards on the ground on the evening. Even still, they’ve been the first team to really put a scare into an Auburn team that’s blown opponents out of the water thus far.

They’ll see a strong ground game on Saturday when they host the Miners and their standout running back Aaron Jones. Jones has been a revelation through three games this season, racking up 549 yards on the ground, the fourth-best mark in the country.

Jones ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-24 win over New Mexico State last week. Jones has accounted for seven of UTEP’s 13 touchdowns for the season, and will certainly be a man the Wildcats are going to want to mark.

Establishing Jones on the ground and controlling the clock will be key for the Miners. The Wildcats can run the ball with authority as well. Kansas State is averaging over 170 yards per game with 10 touchdowns on the ground.

FREE UTEP vs. Kansas State Pick:

UTEP is a woeful 1-31 all-time when taking to the road to face ranked opponents, with the lone victory coming 40 years ago in a win over Arizona State. They won’t need to win this won to cash tickers for bettors, though.

[dfads params=’groups=63739&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

If Jones can get going on the ground, the Miners will be able to milk the clock and get out of town with an easy cover.

Additionally, with both teams working hard to establish their ground games, the under will be worth a look as both sides will be content to let the clock tick down as they try to move their offenses.

The Miners are 4-1 ATS in their last five games after racking up fewer than 170 passing yards in their previous game.

The Under is 4-1 in the Miners’ last five games versus Big 12 opponents, and it is 5-2 in their last seven games against non-conference opponents.

4* FREE ATS play: UTEP +26, Under 56
