We’ve got your FREE Week 4 ATS college football picks and predictions here. Let’s see if we can keep it positive in the fourth week of action…

College Football Picks Week 4

College Football Week 3 unbelievable. The upset by the Huskies over the Trojans should remind everyone just how important the QB position is in college football.

This week they are some big games that could be decided by how well the QBs perform.

I’m looking forward to see the QBs battle between Jacory Harris andTyrod Taylor as Miami visits Virginia Tech this weekend.

College Football betting fans, here are my picks for week 4.

Thursday September 24, 2009

(4) Mississippi at South Carolina at 7:30 PM ET, Williams-Brice Stadium

Mississippi Rebels -3 -110
South Carolina Gamecocks +3 -110
O/U 52 -110

Mississippi (2-0) has a short week to get ready for its SEC opener after defeating South-Eastern Louisiana 52-6 on Saturday. The Gamecocks (2-1, 0-1) are coming off their best offensive game of the season, but they haven’t faced a defense as talented as Mississippi’s.

My pick: The Rebels and QB Jevan Snead to cover. Over.

Saturday September 26, 2009

(7) LSU at Mississippi State at 12 PM ET, Scott Field stadium.

LSU Tigers -17 -110
Mississippi State Bulldog +12 -110
O/U 43 -110

I believeLSU is a serious contender in the SEC. Their defense has been solid and are coming off a dominating performance against the Ragin’ Cajuns, forcing three turnovers and allowing just 272 yards.

My pick: LSU will cover the spread. Over.

Fresno State at (14) Cincinnati at 12:00 PM ET, Nippert Stadium

Fresno State Bulldogs+17 -110
Cincinnati Bearcats -17 -110
O/U 61 -110

This one could turn into a touchdown fest with both teams ranked in the top 10 in total offense. The Bulldogs are led by the nation’s leading rusher, Ryan Mathews. Cincinnati is more of one-dimensional offensively behind the QB/WR duo of Tony Pike – Mardy Gilyard.

My pick: The Bearcats.

Arkansas at (3) Alabama at 3:30 PM ET, Bryant-Denny Stadium

Arkansas Razorbacks -17 -110
Alabama Crimson Tide +12 -110
O/U 57 -110

It’ll be a battle of styles. The Crimson Tide rank No. 3 in the nation in total defense. The Hogs check in at No. 2 in the country in total offense, led by the nation’s top passer: Ryan Mallett.

My pick: Alabama won’t cover the spread. Under.

9) Miami (FL) at (11) Virginia Tech at 3:30 PM ET, Lane Stadium

Miami Florida Hurricanes -2 -110
Virginia Tech Hokies +2 -110
O/U 47 -110

This is my game of the week, no question about it. Miami is looking to win three consecutive games against top 25 opponents for the first time since 2001. Hurricanes’ QB Jacory Harris will be their number one option to succeed; he will be looking forward to repeat last week’s performance when he threw 3 TDs with no interceptions.

On the other hand Hokies’ QB Tyrod Taylor is under just as much pressure because everybody will be waiting to see if he can step up like he did last week.

My pick: Jacory Harris and the Hurricanes will cover the spread. Over.

Illinois at (13) Ohio State at 3:30 PM ET, Ohio Stadium

Illinois Fighting Illini +14 -110
Ohio State Buckeyes -14 -110
O/U 50 -110

Ohio State sophomore QB Terrelle Pryor rushed for 110 yards and threw a touchdown in Ohio State’s 30-20 win at Illinois last season. However you must remember Illinois shocked then-No. 1 Ohio State 28-21 in its last visit in 2007. Illinois, who has lost 14 of its last 15 Big Ten openers, has dropped four in a row against ranked opponents since beating Ohio State.

My pick: the Buckeyes will cover the spread. Over.

(15) TCU at Clemson at 3:30 PM ET, Memorial Stadium

TCU Horned Frogs +2 -110
Clemson Tigers -2 -110
O/U 42 -110

TCU and Clemson haven’t met since Clemson won 3-0 in Death Valley in 1965. TCU looks to go 2-0 against ACC opponents they already won easily at Virginia two weeks ago. Clemson on the other hand, failed against Georgia Tech in its ACC opener, the Tigers bounced back with a win over Boston College.

Clemson’s secondary is in better shape with FS Marcus Gilchrist and SS DeAndre McDaniel both playing at high levels; both are playmakers and effective in helping stop the run.

My pick: Upset by TCU. Over.

Colorado State at (19) Brigham Young at 6:00 PM ET, LaVell Edwards Stadium

Colorado State Rams +17 -110
BYU Cougars -17 -110
O/U 55 -110

BYU looks to bounce back after getting crushed at home by Florida State. The Rams are off to their best start in 15 years. BYU, which has won 12 consecutive conference games at LaVell Edwards Stadium, has won five straight over the Rams.

My pick: Cougars will cover the spread. Under.

24) Washington at Stanford at 9 PM ET, Stanford Stadium

Washington Huskies +7 -110
Stanford Cardinal -7 -110
O/U 51 -110

There are a couple of teams looking to climb the Pac-10 ranks. Both teams are 1-0 in conference play, but the Huskies had the amazing win over USC last week.

The Cardinal has won three of the teams’ last four meetings. But Washington won its last road game in the series, 27-9 in 2007.

My pick: Huskies. Under.

Washington State at (12) USC at 10:15 PM ET, Los Angeles Coliseum

Washington State Cougars +45 -110
USC Trojans -45 -110
O/U 52 -110

The No. 12 Trojans look to bounce back from a shocking defeat to the Huskies last week. USC were 0-for-10 third downs and committed three turnovers inside the Washington 35 yard line, terrible.

Trojans QB Matt Barkley could be back this week after he missed the loss against Washington because of a bruised shoulder.

My pick: USC won’t cover the spread. Under.
