Florida State
They have lost two of their last three games in Raleigh and will be looking to continue their current stellar season Saturday night. This is a big line for a game the media is hyping up as a showdown.
Whether that is an indicator of speculation about Florida State’s greatness should be settled on the field.
The ‘Noles are in the top 10 in scoring offense and defense. With QB E.J Manuel leading the charge they have come up with great balance this year leading to a top 10 offense in yardage too.

Manuel has become a leading Heisman candidate and this is a chance to shine during a night game.
Also key has been the development of an impressive rushing attack featuring backs Chris Thompson and James Wilder Jr.
Big numbers scare me with FSU because I don’t always buy their offense.
This year it seems legit as the offensive line and running game has improved. You know that they can pitch a shutout – two already this year – so this 2 TD plus line seems reasonable.
Not one of my favourite plays of the weekend but not terrible.
NC State
There was some pub for NC State preseason this year but things haven’t panned out. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
In the opener against Tennessee they had a chance to get some credibility but they were never really in that game after the first quarter. Their win at UConn was forgettable (10-7) and their loss at Miami last week was a heartbreaker – giving up a 62 yard score with just 19 seconds to go.
FSU is coming to town though and that seems to bring out the best in the Wolfpack.
Hopefully that is the case for Mike Glennon. The lanky QB has been just average this season. He probably cost them the game against Tennessee and if he had been better against Miami they probably would have won.
FSU is clearly the strongest defense he will face and they have the 4th best passing defense in the nation.
I just don’t see how he is going to mount a steady offensive threat to keep his team in the game.
Last year the Seminoles shut out NC State at home. This year the Wolfpack have the home field advantage but I fear the result may be very similar as this is definitely a better FSU team.
History has shown us that betting on NC State in this matchup has been a sharp play but I just don’t see it this year.
