Florida does not have a dynamic offense, but they are led by their defense, which is ranked 6th in the nation. They shut down LSU last week and now face a Vandy team that ranks 81st in the nation in passing yards per game and 67th in rushing yards per game. Vandy QB Jordan Rodgers has a decent WR corps, but he did not have a great game against Missouri passing for only 182 yards with 0 TD and 1 INT.

For Vandy to pull off the home upset they will have to play good D and get a good game from leading rusher Zac Stacy. However, he has struggled in the last 2 games not averaging over 4 yards per carry in each game.

The Commodores took advantage of a couple of mistakes to win the Missouri game and their 37th ranked defense did not play great giving up 150 rushing yards and 245 passing yards. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Gators do not have a good passing attack, ranked 115th in the nation, but their rushing offense is solid ranking 24th in the nation. The main guy the Commodores’ defense has to worry about is RB Mike Gillislee, who rushed for 146 yards in the big win over LSU. QB Jeff Driskel is the 2nd leading rusher and he only attempted 12 passes in the LSU win.

One of the things the Commodores have going against them is that their strength on D is defending the pass, as their run defense only ranks 80th in the nation. In their losses to Georgia and South Carolina this season Vandy gave up a combined 507 rushing yards.

In some betting trends for this SEC game Florida is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference games, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall, and they have an Under record of 6-1 in their last 7 games.

Vandy is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games, 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall, and they have an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

Jason’s Pick: Florida has covered the spread in 5 of their last 7 games against the Commodores at Vanderbilt and that trend will continue, as the Gators will win and cover since they will rush for a ton of yards.
