2008 Record: 13-1 (National Champion)
The Gators are the odds-on favorite to repeat as national champs in 2009, with star pivot (and former Heisman winner) Tim Tebow opting to return for his senior season. Florida also returns its entire starting defense from last year and stellar recruiting from Meyer has led to depth at virtually all positions.

Florida may have the best college quarterback ever under center in senior Tebow, and although they lose dynamic speedster Percy Harvin to the NFL, there is still more than enough speed to go round. Twins Mike and Maurkice Pouncey should road-grade from the guard positions.
Fans in Gainesville will likely see the best defense in the nation in 2009. Veteran stars like MLB Brandon Spikes, DE Carlos Dunlap and CB Joe Haden have NFL written all over them.
Expect The Swamp to be even more intimidating than normal this season.
Team Strengths
Over the past few seasons, Meyer and his staff have done a phenomenal job recruiting speed players. Eye-popping athleticism at running back, all over the defense and on special teams will be apparent.
Team Weaknesses
Tebow loses his top two receivers from last season in Harvin and Louis Murphy. The underclassmen will have to step up to ensure Tebow has a full stable of targets. The offensive line also loses three starters.
Urban Meyer has built a juggernaut in Gainesville over the past few seasons to rival Southern Cal for dominance in the FBS ranks. While Florida draws a tough schedule and still plays in the cutthroat SEC, it would not at all be a surprise to see the Gators go unbeaten.
Last season’s loss to Ole Miss at home shell-shocked the perfectionist Tebow; it’s unlikely he would let that happen again.
