Eastern Michigan Eagles (0-10) vs Toledo Rockets (4-6)

The Toledo Rockets need a win if they want a chance to come up with the minimum number of victories to become bowl eligible when they host the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Friday.
Toledo leads the series 25-11, and has won nine of the last 10 meetings, winning 41-17 the last time these two teams met in on Sept. 13, 2008.

Eastern Michigan enters Fridays contest winless, but has had to very lose games this season. The Eagles lost 27-24 at Northwestern and at home 29-27 to Ball State. The Eagles have a defense that just can’t stop the run, but are the No.4 rated pass defense in the nation, allowing just 156.2 yards per game. Go figure. They continue to struggle offensively and turnovers are the main ingredient to their demise.
Their latest loss was to Western Michigan 35-14 in Week 11. Quarterback Alex Gillett ran for 132 yards and threw for 186 for the Eagles in the loss.
Toledo has lost three straight games with their last win coming back on Oct. 17. The MAC defending champion Central Michigan blew the Rockets out 56-28 in Week 11. With senior starter Aaron Opelt still out with a nagging shoulder injury, freshman quarterback Austin Dantin will get the start in Friday’s game. Alex Pettee would be next in line if Dantin’s ankle injury persists.
Toledo will have to rely on running back DaJuane Collins and freshman wide receiver Eric Page to carry the offense.
They will also need their often-porous defense to put together a solid performance on Friday.

The Rockets is –19 ½ -point favorites in Fridays match up.
The Rockets will need to grind it out on the ground against Eastern Michigan while the Eagles will need to pressure Toledo’s young quarterbacks, and not let the Rockets’ game-breaker wide receiver Eric Page get his hands on the ball.
