The Eastern Michigan Eagles will try and hang with the Northern Illinois Huskies as the two teams do battle on Thursday when they meet at Husky Stadium.
The Huskies shut out the Eagles in their last meeting on Sep 27, 2008, 37-0.

The Eagles lost their eighth straight game as they were thumped 63-27 by the Arkansas Razorbacks in their last outing. Arkansas out gained Eastern Michigan 390-39 in the first half.
QB Kyle McMahon completed 9-of-18 for 194 yards and three touchdowns in the loss. Freshman WR Kinsman Thomas caught a 77-yard touchdown pass. The Eagles have maintained a decent pass defense but rank dead last in being able to defend against the run. This will pose problems against a solid NUI rushing squad.
Northern Illinois has won two straight games and three of their last four. The Huskies ran the ball 54 times for 275 yards, with TB Chad Spann rushing for 125 as the Huskies came away with a 27-10 win against Akron in Week 9. QB DeMarcus Grady completed 10 passes for 62 yards and rushes for 109 yards. The huge o-line creates plenty of space to escort the running attack. NIU ranks 15th in rushing offense nationally. The defense still needs improvement and is currently ranked at 40th overall. However, they should still be able to shut down pretty much anything the Eagles throw at them offensively.

The Huskies are –21-point favorites in this one.
Look for the Huskies to pound it out on the ground against a weak Eastern Michigan defense. If the Eagles want to avoid a second straight shut out against the Huskies, they will have to go to the air as the Huskies rank just 89th in passing defense.
