This has been a forgettable season for Boston College so far with an overall record of 3-8 straight-up (5-6 against the spread) and a dismal 2-5 SU record in the ACC. Last Saturday, it lost to Notre Dame 16-14 as a 24-point road underdog. The Eagles have been a solid play on the ‘under’ line with nine of their 11 games staying ‘under’ the total this season.
Boston College’s offense has been downright terrible this year with a passing and rushing attack that is each ranked in the bottom-third of Division I-A. schools. This lack of production has translated to an average of just 17.6 points a game.
Miami’s season has not been much to write home about either with a 6-5 SU record overall (7-4 ATS) and a 3-4 SU record in conference play. It is coming off a 6-3 victory over South Florida as a one-point road underdog. The total stayed well ‘under’ the 52.5-point line, but it has gone ‘over’ in six of its previous 10 games. The Hurricanes have also struggled to consistently move the ball and score points this season, but their one claim-to-fame is a defense that is holding its opponents to an average of 19.7 points a game, which is 18th-best in the nation.
The Eagles are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as road underdogs and the total has stayed ‘under’ in 13 of their last 16 conference games.
The Hurricanes are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of their last seven conference games.
Head-to-head in this series, Boston College is 0-4 ATS in its last four trips to Miami and 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall. The home team is 7-2 in the last nine meetings and the total has stayed ‘under’ in the last four. Stick with the recent trends this time around as well, as the Hurricanes roll at home to cover the 14.5 points.
