Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane Preview

NCAAF lines have the Cowboys as 13.5-point favorites in this away game with a total of 69.

Tulsa got over their beating against Oklahoma by coming back last week and playing great on both sides of the ball in a 31-3 win over Tulsa last week while OSU was very impressive beating Arizona 37-14 in their last game.

Both teams are 1-1 ATS so far this season with OSU having an O/U record of 1-1 and Tulane with an O/U record of 0-2.

Tulane knows all too well how good the OSU offense is, as they lost to them last season 65-28.

The Cowboys feature a couple of legit Heisman hopefuls in QB Brandon Weeden (785 yards 5 TD 4 INT) and WR Justin Blackmon (20 rec 272 yards 2 TD) and after losing RB Kendall Hunter to the NFL the running game was a little bit of a concern this season. Well, RB Joseph Randle has been stellar rushing for over 120 yards in both of the Cowboys’ wins averaging a solid 6.8 yards per carry.

Tulsa played a good game on D in the win over Tulane giving up 176 passing yards, only 59 rushing yards, and they came up with 3 turnovers. However, facing Weeden and company the pressure is on their offense, as they will have to light up the scoreboard to pull off the big home upset.

Golden Hurricane QB G.J. Kinne passed for 271 yards against Oklahoma and 241 last week so Tulane can air it out and WR Bryan Burnham and RB Willie Carter are both averaging around 16 yards per reception. Kinne threw 3 INT in last year’s blowout loss to OSU and if that happens again look for another lopsided Tulane loss. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Tulane is led by the pass on offense, as their rushing offense is nothing to write home about. The Cowboys did give up nearly 400 passing yards last week to Arizona and they have a suspect secondary, but a solid run defense.

Tulsa has won 4 of their last 10 games against teams ranked in the top 25.

Betting Trends

Oklahoma State is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road favorite of 10.5 points or more, and has an Under record of 5-1 in their last 6 games as a road favorite. Tulsa is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against teams from the Big 12, and has an Over record of 10-4 in their last 14 games as a home underdog.

Jason’s Pick: I think this game will be much like last season’s game between these 2 teams, as both teams will score points with OSU scoring a ton.

The Cowboys will easily win this game and cover the 13.5-point spread and even with the high betting total of 69.5 the total will go Over.
