By December 29, hopefully something other than Tiger Woods is making news in the Orlando area. It ought to be the tilt between two evenly-matched team, the Badgers and the ‘Canes.

Both teams flashed ability on offense and defense against some stout foes in 2009.
The highlights for Wisconsin are RB John Clay on offense and DL O’Brien Schofield on D. The Badgers have some nice momentum built after embarrassing Hawaii in Honolulu to close the regular season.
While Miami has a characteristically fast defense, they’ll have to be wary at the point of attack, as the Badgers always specialize in their O-line putting some weight on their front hand and blowing defenders away at the point of attack.
It is fitting that Clay is an excellent downhill runner.
Miami, on the other hand, will hope to get the edge with its aerial arsenal. Quarterback Jacory Harris has had a solid year, passing for over 3,000 yards and 23 TDs. Wideouts Leonard Hankerson and Travis Benjamin have been benefiting from Harris’ frequent flyer miles. Aside from a bad loss to Virginia Tech, Miami has looked consistently strong, with the exclamation points being wins over Oklahoma and hated Florida State.
Tailback Graig Cooper can also supplement the passing game; Miami’s fast defenders mean that Wisconsin will likely adopt a more conservative, smashmouth strategy.
Though the Badgers are a solid Big Ten outfit, look for the Hurricane-force gales to disrupt the warm weather and clear sailing for Wisconsin.
Look for Harris to carry the momentum of a strong bowl game into an outstanding junior season in 2010.
