Purdue Boilermakers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish CFB Preview & Free Pick

Boilermakers vs Fighting Irish NCAAF Betting + Handicapping Picks

Notre Dame had a solid start to the season easily winning by 50 points, but they may have a tough time from a Purdue team from the Big 10, who easily won their season opener. Both teams are getting QB’s back from suspensions for this big game.

Purdue Boilermakers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish Preview

NCAAF lines have Notre Dame as 14-point home favorites with a total of 51.5.

We shall see if Notre Dame is a legit team in their next few games, as after Purdue they face 3 teams in their next 4 games that are currently ranked.

In their first games of the season Notre Dame beat Navy 50-10 and Purdue beat Eastern Kentucky 48-6.

Both teams not only won their first game, but they also covered the spread.

Robert Marve passed for nearly 300 yards in the win over Western Kentucky, but Caleb TerBush should get the starting nod. However, Purdue uses 3 QB’s in their offense and that may present a problem for the Notre Dame defense. Purdue has a decent WR corps and they will be facing a Fighting Irish secondary that gave up 192 passing yards against Navy.

Purdue rushed for 175 yards in their season opener and Notre Dame has a solid run defense that played pretty well in facing a solid Navy team that has a solid rushing attack. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Notre Dame QB Everett Golson played decent in the win over Navy passing for 144 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. However, Purdue may have to worry about the Fighting Irish RB duo of Theo Riddick and George Atkinson III. The Irish ranked up 293 rushing yards in the easy win over Navy and if they can run the ball well in this game they should win.

Purdue and their front line defense may have a problem getting to Golson and stopping the run since Notre Dame has an inexperienced offensive line.

If Purdue can pull off the big away upset they have a great chance to be 4-0 when they hit the heart of the conference schedule when they face 3 ranked teams in a row.

In some betting trends for this game Purdue is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall, and they have an Under record of 3-1-1 in their last 5 road games.

Notre Dame is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games, 0-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, and they have an Under record of 14-5 in their last 19 home games.

Jason’s Pick: I like Notre Dame in this game, as they will run the ball well and play good D, which is why they will not only win, but cover the spread as well.
