College Football Week 6 Teaser Picks

Again, we are going to use a variety of teaser bets you can use in your college football betting odds at BetUS. The team we’re with is on the left, with the “teased” number and the opponent in parentheses.

First it’s the TWO-TEAM, SIX-POINT TEASER in which we will lay 11/10 (-110) in college football betting:

Georgia +7.5 (Tennessee)
Georgia Tech +9 (Florida State)

Jonathan Crompton aired it out more last week (43 passes, 259 yards) but he’s still not good enough for the Volunteers to beat good teams. Georgia is a better team all-around, and I’m not sure they’re even going to need any points here……Florida State’s situation is such that I can believe the coaching staff is somewhat divided on whether Bobby Bowden should stay or go. If the Seminoles had some better fundamentals, I might think differently, but you don’t need distractions when trying to prepare for something like the Georgia Tech option, especially when the quarterback (Josh Nesbitt) is able to provide some balance, as he did with 266 yards against Mississippi State last week.

This is the FOUR-TEAM, 13-POINT TEASER where you’ll be laying 3/2 (-150) in this college football betting proposition:

Texas A&M +18.5 (Oklahoma State)
Houston +15 (Mississippi State)
Utah State +2 (New Mexico State)
Washington +16 (Arizona)

Sure, Oklahoma State has a scheduling edge because it played Grambling last week, but A&M has the ability to score some points, and they’re still second in total offense……Houston was so disappointing against UTEP last week, and justifiably dropped in the polls. This is a stern challenge for them, traveling to an SEC team’s backyard, but you can guarantee that Case Keenum’s team has some “backdoor” power for our purposes, and they will go down swinging.

Well, this is a much better Utah State team than the one that scored a 47-2 win over New Mexico State last year. The best weapon on the field is running back Robert Turbin, who averages seven yards a carry.

Washington is a team that is probably a little winded from its overtime loss at Notre Dame, but these Huskies are full of fight, and ought to be able to produce enough from Jake Locker to stay within two touchdowns.

This is our THREE-TEAM, TEN-POINT TEASER in college football betting, in which we’ll get ten points to the good on each team and will lay 6/5 (-120).

TCU -1 (Air Force)
Navy -1 (Rice)
Fresno State pick (Hawaii)

The Horned Frogs have a bruising defense, and in fact ranks first against the run, allowing just 1.76 yards an attempt. That’s bad news for this one-dimensional Air Force team.

Navy is one-dimensional too, but that should be more than enough against a relatively non-offensive Rice squad that has had all it could handle stopping any capable offense.

Hawaii is going to be without Greg Alexander, so their wide-open offense is bound to be functioning below normal. The Warriors are allowing 183 rushing yards a game, and that opens the door for Fresno State’s Ryan Matthews (592 yards, 6.8 ypc).

Finally, it’s our FOUR-TEAM, SEVEN-POINT TEASER where we get seven points to the good in four different games. The payoff is +200:

Pittsburgh pick (Connecticut)
Florida -1 (LSU)
Colorado State +14.5 (Utah)
Iowa -1 (Michigan)

Pittsburgh’s running game doesn’t stop (Dion Lewis, a freshman, has 580 yards already), they can rush the passer, and QB Bill Stull has thrown just one interception.

Florida, which has covered eleven of their last 12 games. is such a better team than LSU that I don’t know if I wouldn’t like them with or without Tim Tebow.

I kind of like Colorado State, because even though they don’t have a lot of big “stat” people, they are well-coached with Steve Fairchild (6-0 ATS at home) and are ready, willing and able to play the full sixty minutes.

Michigan has a freshman quarterback (Tate Forcier) again going to a hostile location. Does anybody realize that Iowa has won nine games in a row, going back to last season? They were certainly looking past Arkansas State last week, but if you are talking about favorites to win the Big Ten, the Hawkeyes have to be among them.

Good luck.
