vHowever, if they truly are an elite team they should bounce back against a TCU squad that has been disappointing all season long. If they do they should find an invite to the BCS in their future…if not maybe the Alamo Bowl.

That would be quite the letdown.

Yikes.

Baylor

I was a confident backer of the Cowboys last week but I didn’t expect that Baylor would look that bad.

They are on the road again this week looking for redemption and facing a desperate TCU team.

These teams have played in each of the last three seasons with TCU holding the upperhand with a 2-1 record. Coach Art Briles needs to get his offense back on track but he also needs to outsmart another top coach that has been getting the best of him lately.

Last week against OSU the Bears were dominated and it wasn’t any one thing, it was everything. Sure they had a few key weapons out due to injury but the offense looked completely out of sync and the defense, which had also been putting up superlative numbers in the shadows, made OSU QB Clint Chelf look like a Heismann candidate. They have to play better this week right

TCU

It has been a long hard season for coach Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs. I actually believed they might be a sleeper team in the B12 this year but instead they have been getting beaten every which way this season. Even their vaunted defense has been worse than what was expected.

I know it sounds trite but this game is the only way they can salvage their season

They will not qualify for a bowl but beating a top 10 team in front of your home crowd is a nice way to build some steam for the next season. This will be the last game for beleaguered QB Caseey Pachall too. His senior season has not been what he hoped for but one shining final moment is not that far out of the realm of possibility.

The Frogs have had trouble scoring all season long but maybe the coaching staff has one great gameplan in them against a foe they have befuddled before. I think it will be close but no cigar for the Frogs this time around.

Spread Pick: TCU +11.5
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: Baylor 39 – TCU 33
