Arizona State
The Arizona State Sun Devils have looked good all season, as their only losses have come against the No. 5 Stanford Cardinal and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish—a three-point loss. In their last game, they took down the No. 20 Washington Huskies in grand fashion, tallying 54 points to UW’s 24.

Against Washington State, expect to see a battle between two high-powered offenses. The Sun Devils are in the bottom half of the FBS when it comes to points allowed (26.7 per game, 63rd in the country), but they’re sixth in scoring at 45.4 points per contest.
Like Washington State, ASU finds its offense through the air. The team is just 56th in the nation in rushing, but it more than makes up for it with 332 yards per game through the air. That puts them at 14th in the FBS, due large in part to quarterback Taylor Kelly (18 TD, 7 INT) and do-it-all skill player Marion Grice.
Grice, the team’s leading rusher with 553 yards and 12 touchdowns, is also the team’s leading receiver in terms of scores. He has 33 receptions on the year (third on the roster) for six touchdowns.
Defensively, this team can forget about defending the run. Washington State hasn’t established it yet this season, and it’s doubtful a new plan of attack will be put into play on Halloween night. Plan for the pass, and ASU will be just fine. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Washington State
Washington State’s rushing attack hasn’t been just bad this season—it’s been non-existent. The team is pounding the ground to the tune of just 58.4 yards per contest, which puts them as the third-worst running team in the entire country.
Passing, on the other hand, is a completely different story. Head coach Mike Leach’s air-raid attack has allowed this team to become the sixth-best passing team in the country, as they collect 373.1 yards per game through the air.
Unfortunately, for Washington State, those yards aren’t resulting in nearly as many points as the Sun Devils acquire week to week. The Cougars are scoring 30.9 points per game, which puts them at 57th in the nation.
Like the Sun Devils, WSU hasn’t played in a game since Oct. 19. They’re coming off of a bye week, which is crucial entering a Week-10 matchup. Unlike the Sun Devils, the Cougars were rocked by the Oregon Ducks, similarly to how the Huskies were defeated by ASU.
The home field will be ready to go come Thursday, but unfortunately for the Washington State faithful, they’ll be getting tricks, not treats on Halloween night..
Prediction: Arizona State 45 – Washington State 24
