Rice has a more balanced offensive attack and they ended the season well winning their last 4 games of the season. NCAAF lines have Air Force as a 1.5-point favorite with a total of 61.

In their last games Rice beat UTEP 33-24 and Air Force lost to Fresno State 48-15.

Rice is 7-4-1 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 6-6 and Rice is 3-9 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 4-7.

Taylor McHargue leads the Rice offense that averaged 40.5 ppg in their 4 game winning streak to end the season. His main target is RB Charles Ross, who led the Owls in recovering yards and also rushed for over 700 yards including rushing for 154 in the last game of the season.

The Owls have a decent WR corps, but it may be more important for them to keep Ross from making catches out of the backfield. Ross may be a major headache for the Falcons, as they only rank 98th in the nation in run defense. However, they have a solid pass defense ranking 28th in the nation. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

To say the Falcons are all about the run is an understatement, as they rank 2nd in rushing yards per game and 122nd in passing yards per game. QB Connor Dietz passed for 1,127 yards with 8 TD and 3 INT on the season and he also was the 2nd leading rusher for the Falcons. While the Falcons do not air it out much when they do they go for it, as both of their top WR’s are each averaging over 17 yards per catch.

Cody Getz rushed for 1,213 yards with 9 TD on the season, but they Falcons have many players that can run the ball. For the season Air Force had 5 players that rushed for over 415 yards. That is not good for a Rice team that only ranks 91st in the nation in rushing defense.

In some betting trends for the Armed Forces Bowl Rice is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win, and they have an Over record of 7-3 in their last 10 non-conference games.

Air Force is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall, and they have an Under record of 6-2 in their last 8 games.

Jason’s Pick: Air Force has the rushing attack and Rice does not have a good run defense, but still have to go with Rice in this game since they are the hot team and have a more balanced offense.
