Miami is 11-0 at home this season and Virginia is 3-5 on the road.

Things do not stack up well for the Cavaliers, as they are coming off a bad loss and have not fared well on the road this season and in their 5 ACC home wins Miami has beaten their opponents by an average of 21.2 ppg.

Virginia has a solid defense only giving up an average of 54 ppg, but against North Carolina they allowed the Tar Heels to shoot 49.2% from the floor, bury 13 of their 28 3-pointers, and 4 of 5 UNC players scored in double figures.

Miami struggled with their shot in the 2-point win over Clemson, but at home they are averaging over 75 ppg and they are shooting a 3-pt FG% of 42.4%.

The one player the Canes really have to play solid defense against is G Joe Harris (16.7 ppg), who is averaging 25.0 ppg on 72.7% shooting in his last 3 games.  He played well in the UNC loss with 27 points and tonight will need help from 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder Akil Mitchell (12.6 ppg 8.8 rpg).

Miami has a balanced offense led by the G duo of Durand Scott (13.4 ppg), Shane Larkin (13.2 ppg) and F/C Kenny Kadji (13 ppg). [ad-6571516]

Reggie Johnson (9.5 ppg 8.3 rpg) and Kadji (6.5 rpg) are a solid 6’10” C duo and they are a major concern for a Virginia team that only ranks 279th in the nation in rebounds per game.

The Hurricanes have never lost to the Cavaliers at home (5-0).

In some betting trends for this ACC match up Virginia is 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 road games, 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 games, and they have an Over record of 5-0 in their last 5 games.

Miami is 14-3 ATS in their last 17 home games, 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, and they have an Under record of 6-2-1 in their last 9 home games.

Jason’s Pick: Back at home Miami will play much better than they did against Clemson and while the Cavaliers are a solid team the Canes will win and cover in their house.
