USC
The have fired their coach (which I don’t really understand) and are looking to create enough action to provide some hope for the future.
That will be a tall order against crosstown rival UCLA who probably has the most talent in the conference, even if they rarely show it.

You wouldn’t know it from the results but there is actually pretty good talent at USC right now. It has become a popular spot for transfers and they have as much size as any team in the nation.
They just never seem to be able to get into any kind of a rhythm offensively.
The defense that made them an awful team to play against last year has not been there this season. They can not afford to get into a track meet with UCLA.
USC is 4-4 ATS in conference play. All of those wins were as underdogs which is the role they deserve and thankfully prefer. This is going to be an uphill climb that they will have to try and control from the beginning.
That is a really tall order on the road, even if they are not travelling all that far.
UCLA
The Bruins were becoming the team we thought they were destined to be before losing two of their last three games.[ad-6571516]
They were favoured in both games and have not been a good bet this season with an 8-12 record. This is a game they have to have if they are going to reach their goals They are relying a lot on inexperienced players so this is a tough team to rely on right now.
Frosh Shabazz Muhamad is a nice player but his best quality seems to be his aggressive nature as opposed to any one particular skill.
The Bruins shouldn’t be too bothered by the Trojans length because they have plenty of size too. The Wear brothers are inconsistent but they are both close to 7 feet tall and Kyle Anderson is essentially a 6’9” shooting guard.
I don’t like their point guard Larry Drew but he is racking up assists every night.
UCLA is a very public team so when they underperform they are going to kill your bankroll. This is kind of a light rivalry for hoops because USC hasn’t had nearly the success of the Bruins on the hardwood.
Should be an easy win for the Bruins but we have said that before this season and been burned.
