The game is set to tip-off at 12 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast on CBS.

North Carolina started the season as the No.1 team in the country, but a stunning 90-80 loss to UNLV last Saturday as an eight-point favorite in the championship game of the Las Vegas Invitational. The Tar Heels quickly responded with a huge 60-57 victory over No.7 Wisconsin this past Wednesday night as seven-point home favorites.

They are now 6-1 straight-up, but just 3-3 against the spread.

If they are to have any shot at reclaiming the top spot, the Tar Heels will need a monster game from not just Harrison Barnes and Tyler Zeller, but from the entire lineup as it will take a full 40 minutes if not longer to get by the Wildcats on the road. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Kentucky is off to a perfect 6-0 start SU and is 3-2 ATS. Before it gets a shot at taking on the Tar Heels, it will have to get by 4-3 St. John’s on Thursday night as a 21.5-point home favorite. The challenge in this game will be avoiding the temptation to look ahead to Saturday.

Doron Lamb and Terrence Jones have provided a good chuck of offensive production for the Wildcats this season with a combined 27.5 points a game. As a whole, Kentucky is averaging 84.2 points a game, while holding its opponents to just 54.2 points a game.

The spread on this game should remain pretty thin, but stick with North Carolina and whatever points it gets as this is shaping-up as a one or two point either way.

The Pick: North Carolina 66 vs. Kentucky 65
