Stanford Cardinal vs. Arizona Wildcats Free Gambling Prediction & CBB Preview

Cardinal vs Wildcats CBB Basketball Spread/Handicapping

The Cardinal are hanging in there in the PAC 12.  They have a 5-4 conference record, winning, and losing, mostly when they should.  Their best win to date was a home romp against an Oregon team that was ranked 10 at the time, mostly due to the strength of their win against a then undefeated Arizona.

Stanford

This team is definitely on the bubble but a win against another top opponent could push them into the bracket.

Stanford comes at you with a one-two scoring punch of forward Josh Powell and guard Chasson Randle.  Powell can be a load down low while Randle scoots around the perimeter.  They both average 14ppg but Randle is more the x factor with his ability to shoot his team in and out of any contest.  After these two scoring is difficult to count on though Powell does get help on the boards from Josh Huestis who averages 9 and 9.

This team struggles on the road, just 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS.  This is not a big surprise as most of those road games have been in conference. They have not done well as a road underdog at 0-2 but its not like they clean up as a favourite either.  This is a limited team that could get blown out of the gym if Zona is motivated.

Arizona

The Wildcats have dropped two conference games and find themselves tied atop the standings with Oregon.  They have won three in a row but haven’t looked like the team they did earlier in the season.  That loss to the Ducks really seemed to sap their confidence.  What it didn’t sap was their depth, which will only get better as their freshman get more experience.  This team probably hasn’t played its best ball yet. Guard Mark Lyons is playing point for the first time and it is going so-so.  He can be a deadly clutch scorer but he is averaging more turnovers than assists.  Forward Solomon Hill was supposed to be an under the radar player of the year candidate but he has just held steady instead of taking a leap.  When he is engaged look out but sometimes it looks like he is taking segments of the game off.  I really like the athletic guard Nick Johnson.  He is always making something happen.

Arizona has probably overperformed in terms of record but hasn’t been making anyone much money at just 10-9 ATS.  The home record is about the same (5-4) and they have only covered in 3 out of 9 conference games.  -10 seems like a pretty solid number so I would look for other value spots on the board.
