SEC East Winner: Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky is a the gigantic favorite (-800) to win the East in the sportsbook and there is no question that they are the best team in the SEC. They are a Top 5 team in the nation and only one of two SEC teams in the Top 25.

John Calipari takes over the program and they are loaded with talent. John Wall is already considered a stud and now that the NCAA has cleared him to play, he should be one of the key leaders on this team.

This team is very young but it is loaded with more talent than almost anyone in the nation.

SEC West Winner: Mississippi State Bulldogs

Online betting cappers should see the Bulldogs as the kings of the West division as there really aren’t many teams to stop them. They are the other SEC ranked in the Top 25. Jarvis Varnado, who thought about the NBA briefly, returns as a presence at forward for the Bulldogs and he’s just one of five returning starters. This team is Sweet Sixteen material given that they won the SEC Tournament last year and still have a lot of chemistry and consistency.Sports Betting at the Sportsbook

Team To Surprise: Tennessee Volunteers

If there is one team that can make some noise in the SEC unexpectedly, it should be Bruce Pearl’s Volunteers. Sure, they failed to meet expectations last year and really faded down the stretch, but if your place betting picks against them based on their second half performance, keep in mind that the same squad returns a year wiser.

A roster Tyler Smith, Wayne Chism, J.P. Prince, Scotty Hopson and Bobby Maze should be dangerous enough to make some noise in this conference and even the NCAA Tourtnament.

Team To Disappoint: LSU Tigers

The Tigers – and first year head coach Trent Johnson – did a great job last year and really turned it around from being a talented team that was underachieving to a respectable winner. The problem is that SEC Player of the Year, Marcus Thornton, has graduated to the NBA while Garrett Temple and Chris Johnson (two other starters) are gone as well. Some pundit sports picks may expect a carry over into this year but it’s unlikely given the loss in talent. LSU just isn’t the type of program that reloads on the fly and the loss of Thornton will drop them in the standings.
