Kentucky had a fairly easy time of it in dispatching the Mississippi Rebels in quarterfinals on Friday. They won by 9 despite getting subpar performance from fab frosh forward Terrence Jones who was riddled with foul trouble and only scored 7. Fortunately Josh Harrelson and Darius Miller stepped up, scoring 28 points between them.

This is a talented team but one that relies a little too much on its freshmen. When the veterans step up too they can be awfully hard to beat.

I expect that the Wildcats will be the favourite in this one but there is no line posted yet. Beware of Big Blue as they have cashed in only three times in their last 10 despite a 7-3 SU record.

I was shocked to see the result of Alabama’s game against Georgia to kick things off on Friday…it is amazing how some teams just always seem to choke (Georgia thats you!).

You have to credit Bama though for keeping them in sight and consistently proving me wrong, I just don’t know how they do it. This team is certainly capable of beating Kentucky as they have already done it once this season. That game was at home and they won by 2 points thanks to a significant edge in rebounding and disastrous foul shooting by the Cats.

I am not sure they can count on those same advantages this time around.

Betting Trends:

Wildcats are 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 games following a ATS loss.
Wildcats are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games.
Wildcats are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Crimson Tide are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win.
Crimson Tide are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games.
Crimson Tide are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.

Free Wildcats vs Crimson Tide Pick: I just can’t find a reason to back Bama while Kentucky is loading up for the real championship starting next week. They should win handily but it won’t be a blowout.

Score prediction: Kentucky 74 – Alabama 66
