Its nice when a tournament championship game actually matches the conference’s two best teams against each other. Florida was sharp against Vanderbilt with guard Kenny Boynton again leading the way.
He was efficient and I am willing to bet the Gators are undefeated when he shoots 50% or better from the floor (not that it happens very often).
The Gators won while getting only a combined 7 points from their frontcourt muscle men Alex Tyus and Vernon Macklin. To beat Kentucky in the Championship game they are going to need a much better effort from that duo and the continued steady play of their backcourt.
These two teams have split their last 10 contests but Florida holds the ATS edge 6-3-1.
Kentucky won their semi-final game with ease against Alabama but there has to be concern over the fact that again fab frosh forward Terrence Jones was a no-show with just 7 points. His burly teammate Josh Harrelson outscored him again by coming up with a double-double. 
The Wildcats seem to be really gelling as a team and winning when Jones isn’t even a difference maker. But beating Alabama is one thing, beating the every experienced Gators is another. Coach John Calipari has got to be concerned that his #1 thoroughbred seems to get the yips when the stakes are at their greatest.
Especially with the biggest games starting today and more to come next week.
