The Villanova Wildcats take on the Connecticut Huskies this Monday afternoon in a Big East showdown of top 10 teams. Tip-off from the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is set for 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Villanova is coming off a 74-66 win over Maryland on Saturday as a five-point home favorite to run its record on the year to 16-1 straight-up and 8-5-1 against the spread. The Wildcats are 4-0 SU in the Big East and have now won 11 games straight games. Their only loss of the season was a 78-86 setback to Tennessee on Nov. 26 as a six-point favorite.

Corey Stokes and Corey Fisher continue to lead the way for Villanova. Stokes leads the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game and is averaging 3.6 rebounds, while Fisher is averaging 15.4 points and 4.8 assists. The Wildcats are averaging 78 points a game and shooting 45.9 percent from the field.

This past Saturday, Connecticut rolled over DePaul 82-62 as a 9 ½-point road favorite. The victory took the Huskies to 14-2 SU overall (8-2 ATS) and 3-2 SU in the conference. Their previous two conference losses were to No. 5 Pittsburgh 78-63 as a 7 ½-point road underdog and to No. 11 Notre Dame as a four-point road underdog.

The Huskies top scorer is Kemba Walker, who is second in the nation with 25.6 points per game. Alex Oriakhi leads the team in rebounds with 9.2 per game and is second in scoring with 10.9 points. Connecticut is averaging 77 points per game and is ranked seventh in the nation in rebounds with an average of 42 per game.

UConn has won the last two games of this series and the total went ‘over’ both times. While the Huskies have struggled a bit on the road this season, they remain extremely hard to beat at home.

The Pick: Connecticut -2
