The Pittsburgh Panthers will look to continue their dominance in the Big East with a victory over the Villanova Wildcats this Saturday night at the Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Pittsburgh is currently 22-2 straight-up overall (10-9 against the spread) and in first-place in the conference at 10-1 SU. The Panthers knocked-off its bitter rival West Virginia 71-66 on the road this past Monday in a game that closed as a ‘pick’. 
The Panthers were dealt a major blow when their leading scorer Ashton Gibbs went down with a knee injury that will sideline him for another week or so. Brad Wanamaker is the team’s second-leading scorer with 12.3 points a game and leads in assists with 5.1. Pitt is averaging 77 points and 42 rebounds a game.
Villanova was stunned by Rutgers77-76 on Wednesday night as a 5 ½-point road favorite. This followed a 66-50 victory over West Virginia as a 4 ½-point home favorite last Saturday. The Wildcats are 19-5 SU (11-9-1 ATS) and three games behind the Panthers at 7-4 SU in conference play.
Corey Fisher and Corey Stokes continue to provide the bulk of the production for Villanova. Fisher leads the team with an average of 16 points and 5.3 assists, while Stokes is averaging 14.6 points and 3.4 rebounds. The Wildcats are shooting 45.2 percent from the field and averaging 76 points a game. They have been especially good from the foul-line; converting on 77.3 percent of their attempts.
Villanova has a great chance to nail-down a huge quality win at home with Gibbs out of the Panthers’ lineup.
