The Northern Illinois Huskies will look to take down their first ranked opponent when they take on the Missouri Tigers this Monday night at Mizzou Arena. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN Full Court.

Northern Illinois, out of the Mid-American Conference, comes into this game with losses in four of its last five games including an 84-74 loss to Temple a week ago as a 25-point road underdog and a 61-49 loss to Southern Illinois as an 11 ½-point road underdog this past Wednesday. The Huskies are currently 3-6 straight-up on the year and 4-3 against the spread.

Senior guard Xavier Silas is a huge part of Northern Illinois’s offensive attack with 26.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. The next leading scorer is freshman forward Nate Rucker, who is averaging 7.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Big 12 power Missouri has won its last six games and is currently 11-1 SU in its first 12 but just 3-5 ATS. The Tigers knocked off No. 21 Illinois 75-64 in the second annual “Braggin’ Rights” game last Wednesday night. They covered as a one-point neutral-site favorite and the total stayed ‘under’ the 148 ½ point total.

The Tigers have five players averaging in double-figures led by junior guard Marcus Denmon’s 16.7 points per game. Junior forward Ricardo Ratliffe leads the team in rebounds with 7.3 and is second in scoring with 12.3 points per game.

The formula for Missouri in this game is simple; concentrate on shutting down Silas on defense and continue to spread the ball around on offense.
