It will be a terrific Big East showdown on Wednesday night when #9 Georgetown and #12 Connecticut square off in a key conference clash. Georgetown comes into this game having won eight straight games. The Huskies have lost three of their last five games, including two on their home floor.
Connecticut is just 7-5 in the Big East, and this is a game they really need to win.
The Georgetown Hoyas might have the best trio of guards in the entire country. Chris Wright is their veteran leader at the point guard spot. Austin Freeman is their leading scorer at 18.5 points per game, and he is one of the best players in the Big East. Jason Clark is a terrific three-point shooter, and he averages 12.2 points per game. 
The Hoyas are shooting 50% from the floor as a team, which is the second best mark in the nation. The development of forwards like Nate Lubick, Julian Vaughn, and Hollis Thompson is what makes Georgetown a legitimate threat come NCAA Tournament time.
The UConn Huskies were one of the best stories in college basketball at the beginning of the year. They went undefeated in non-conference action, but the Big East has caught up to them a bit of late. Kemba Walker is a star and he may have been the best player in college basketball over the first few weeks of the year.
In the last few games, Walker’s shooting percentage has dropped quickly as teams key in on him. UConn has a solid group of freshman as well, and this is a team that does well on the inside. Alex Oriakhi is quickly becoming a force at the forward spot. This is a team that should mature as the season goes.
